Does your school car park meet the needs of every user?

by Debbie Mann

A school car park is used by a variety of people, such as school staff, parents and students. This is why it is vital that your school’s car park is marked out accurately and with the safety of every user in mind.

On a day-to-day basis, your school car park will most likely be used by staff and depending on the size of your school, you may have several dozen members of school staff using your car park. This is why it is important that the car park markings you have in place maximise the space you have available, so that there will always be a space available for each member of staff.

It is also important for your school car park to have ‘drop-off’ zones, to facilitate parents who are either picking up or dropping off their child at school. These areas can be created and marked out with line markings such as bays with a ‘Drop-Off Zone’ message.

Along with staff and parent vehicles, students may also be using your car park on a daily basis. Often, students will walk across a school’s car park, on their way to and from school, which is why line markings such as pedestrian walkways, play a vital part in keeping these students safe.

We can install car park markings that will not only help your school to keep the health and safety of your pupils, staff and parents at a high level, but that will also help you to make the most out of the space you have available.
