Worcester Mayor & Mayoress visit Dines Green primary school

Worcester Mayor & Mayoress visit Dines Green Primary school to launch the new Globe playground design as part of the PITT project.

The rain stayed about just long enough for the Key Stage 2 children of Dines Green Primary school to enjoy exploring the world globe which has been laid on the playground by the Parallel Lines team. The world globe was commissioned as a result of an Ofsted inspection which suggested the children needed more activities to stimulate their imagination in the playground. Dave Mann & artist, Nathaniel Pitt have worked hard to give the children a way to explore the geography of the world in a fun & interactive way.

The children love it! Coupled with indoor projects exploring different aspects of the world such as where different foods come from and where animals live and many more. They built the Himalayas out of rocks & filled Australia with sand.

Mr. Gough, the headteacher of the school, welcomed the Mayor & Mayoress of Worcester to the school to 'cut the ribbon' and officially open the new activity. Luckily the weather stayed fine and we managed to get lots of photographs for a new gallery for the website.

Lots more fun patterns, shapes & activities are now planned for the rest of the playground over the coming weeks & months. Lucky kids!
